About the position

The Marketing and Events Coordinator, Senior at Northern Arizona University is responsible for the coordination and management of marketing, communications, and event promotion strategies for campus recreation programs and services. This role involves developing marketing materials, managing promotional campaigns, and ensuring effective communication across various media platforms. The position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events, and it emphasizes collaboration with various teams to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of recreation offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate marketing, publicity, promotion, and communications for campus recreation programs and events.
  • Produce and maintain an active plan and timeline for all marketing campaigns, including evaluation and assessment of their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Student Affairs Strategic Initiatives and Operations Communication team to maintain strategic communication plans for marketing campaigns.
  • Design and uphold departmental brand standards across all marketing and digital media platforms.
  • Manage department website maintenance, including design and content management.
  • Explore and create new avenues for advertising and publicity.
  • Implement focus groups and conduct regular surveys to collect marketing-based assessment data.
  • Participate in division committees as requested and attend division and department meetings.
  • Coordinate the creation, development, and implementation of departmental signature and special events.
  • Provide on-site presence during events to ensure successful operations and create real-time social media content.
  • Assist with planning and executing collaborative events with key partners across campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, or event planning.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, particularly for web and electronic media.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and techniques.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with social media marketing and content creation.
