About the position

Alliance Highway Safety is seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals for a Marketing and Events Internship for Winter 2024/2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event marketing and corporate sponsorships while working alongside experienced professionals in the field. Interns will be involved in coordinating a variety of sponsorship events across the country, including NCAA events, High School State Championships, state fairs, motorcycle events, and small NASCAR racetrack venues in states such as Colorado, Idaho, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. The role will require interns to assist in the management of sponsorship campaigns, ensuring impactful community messaging focused on highway safety. This includes promoting campaigns related to drinking and driving, texting while driving, seatbelt use, speeding, and other safety initiatives through sports and entertainment venues. Interns will have the chance to travel, engage with community members, and contribute to making a difference in public safety through effective marketing strategies. Interns will be responsible for attending events, planning travel arrangements, liaising with venue coordinators, and capturing marketing activations through photographs. They will also prepare professional recaps of each event for clients and ensure that sponsorship requirements are met at each venue. This internship is ideal for individuals who enjoy traveling, are passionate about community engagement, and are eager to learn about the event management industry.

Responsibilities

  • Attend events as scheduled (weekday, weekends and some holidays)
  • Planning and booking travel arrangements
  • Contacting and working with venue coordinators
  • Traveling to events and marketing our various campaigns effectively
  • Preparing professional recaps of each event for the client
  • Capturing photographs of marketing activations and engagement at events
  • Ensuring that each venue is meeting sponsorship requirements (signs, PA announcements, video commercials, print ads, etc.)
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be able to travel (50% or more of the time)
  • Well-organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Preferred: Teams Application)
  • Ability to multitask and time manage
  • Ability to stay flexible and adaptable
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Have strong interpersonal skills that complement a proactive, solution-driven, team-oriented work ethic
  • Ability to work untraditional hours including weekends, evenings and some holidays
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. as needed
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or a junior/senior working towards a bachelor's degree or graduate degree.
