About the position

Optimist International is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing and Events Coordinator to join our Marketing, Communications, and Meeting Services Team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build their careers or transition into a new field within a fast-paced, multi-disciplined environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our dedicated staff to support the development and implementation of marketing campaigns aimed at organizational growth, product and program promotions, and event logistics. This includes handling the logistics for our annual international board meetings, conferences, and conventions. In this position, you will support the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with Optimist International's mission and strategic objectives. You will help build brand equity across various platforms and support the execution of image awareness and branding campaigns. Collaborating with the communications manager, you will execute strategies to elevate the internal and community brand awareness of Optimist International's Clubs and Members. Additionally, you will assist in updating all collateral materials, both print and digital, and provide support for our official merchandise suppliers to increase sales and build a sustainable non-dues revenue stream. Your responsibilities will also include attending organizational events to promote programs, capture content, and support social media campaigns. You will conduct data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts and provide input on the best media formats for each campaign. Furthermore, you will work on developing promotional materials using primary and secondary data to conduct market research that informs strategic initiatives. In terms of digital platform management, you will collaborate with the Communications Manager to create and sustain an impactful online presence through the organization's website and social media outlets. You will recommend delivery systems related to content management and analytics, and collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of digital communications and marketing. As part of the Meeting Services responsibilities, you will coordinate all logistics related to two to three annual on-site board meetings, including housing, travel, and meals, as well as logistics for the annual Governors-Elect Conference(s) and the annual convention.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with Optimist International's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Help in building brand equity across platforms.
  • Provide support for the implementation of image awareness/branding campaigns, including working with the communications manager to execute communication strategies.
  • Provide support for official merchandise suppliers and help determine practical products for various audiences to increase sales.
  • Update all collateral materials as needed, both print and digital, including those created by external suppliers.
  • Attend organization events to support developing strategies to promote programs, capture content, and support social media campaigns.
  • Conduct data analysis to determine effectiveness of marketing efforts and spending.
  • Evaluate and assist team members to determine the best media format for each campaign.
  • Work on content and resources for the development of promotional materials, including photos, videos, and member feedback.
  • Conduct market research to help inform and guide strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related degree.
  • 3-5 years previous experience in marketing, advertising, and/or brand management.
  • Prior experience working within a non-profit structure and with volunteers is a plus.
  • Ability to work cooperatively across departments to achieve goals.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage resources effectively.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment with high reliability, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Photography, videography, and editing skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in Office 365 platform; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Understanding of multi-generational audiences and ability to create relevant content.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with varying degrees of pressure; strong work ethic and determination; detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in videography and editing.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
