The Marketing and Events Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting both business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing initiatives for The Post and Courier's Columbia expansion and its sister publication, Free Times. This position is designed to be the "boots on the ground" for implementing company-wide marketing strategies specifically tailored to the Columbia market, as well as managing events hosted by Free Times. The primary objective of this role is to enhance the brand's visibility and engagement through effective marketing and event strategies, ultimately leading to increased community engagement, lead generation, revenue growth, and the achievement of revenue objectives. In this role, the coordinator will strategize and execute paid social media campaigns aimed at increasing awareness and driving leads and conversions for digital subscriptions, event marketing, and business-to-business advertising. Responsibilities include coordinating the distribution of content, creating compelling copy for advertisements across various social media platforms, and engaging with followers to foster community interaction. The coordinator will also assist the newsroom in promoting editorial content and will be responsible for producing detailed reports on social media growth and engagement metrics to share with key stakeholders. Additionally, the Marketing and Events Coordinator will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing events within the local market, supporting Free Times events and contracted partnerships. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and managing trade partnerships, coordinating community sponsorships, and ensuring that all trade benefits are effectively utilized. Collaboration with graphic design resources to develop creative marketing materials is also a key aspect of this position. The coordinator will stay informed about industry best practices and trends through ongoing research and networking, ensuring that The Post and Courier remains competitive in the digital landscape.
