About the position

The Marketing and Front of House Coordinator at the University of Oregon is responsible for promoting theatre productions and managing front of house operations. This role involves collaboration with faculty and production leads to create marketing materials, oversee marketing campaigns, and ensure excellent customer experiences in the theatre lobby. The coordinator also supervises student staff and manages day-to-day operations of the theatre complex.

Responsibilities

  • Promote University Theatre productions and support front of house operations.
  • Design professional-level marketing materials and show programs.
  • Write advertising copy and oversee photographers.
  • Coordinate with printers and local media for promotional materials.
  • Distribute marketing materials and oversee marketing campaigns.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of marketing practices in compliance with brand standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for general inquiries.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the lobby and seating areas of the Miller Theatre Complex.
  • Maintain functionality and safety of lobby spaces and ensure excellent customer experiences.
  • Coordinate with the UO Ticket Office on ticket sales and manage lobby displays.
  • Manage inventory for concessions and operational supplies.
  • Liaise with special guests or group visits and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise student staff including house managers, ushers, photographers, and office assistants.
  • Recruit, onboard, and direct student staff in compliance with university policies.

Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.
  • Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and/or other programs.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage concurrent project timelines, assess priorities, and meet firm deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate and accept artistic direction from project leads.
  • Strong customer-service mindset.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and remain calm to address emerging situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with marketing.
  • Experience with venue management and/or event work.
  • Experience with theatre or other performing arts.
