About the position

The Marketing and Operations Associate at Great Bear Vineyards is a dynamic role that combines marketing, customer service, and operational responsibilities within a winery setting. This position is essential for enhancing the guest experience, managing wine club memberships, and supporting the overall growth of the winery's brand through effective marketing strategies and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging content for the winery's website, including writing product descriptions and updating event information.
  • Design and execute social media campaigns, primarily on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Develop and distribute email newsletters to promote events, new releases, and Wine Club offerings.
  • Take high-quality photos of events, products, and the winery for use on the website and social media.
  • Manage Wine Club memberships, including invoicing, new member onboarding, and member communication.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and handle inquiries onsite and online.
  • Answer customer phone calls and emails promptly and professionally.
  • Process online wine orders and arrange shipping/pickups.
  • Process invoices and winery expenses.
  • Assist with event registration and guest list management.
  • Handle private event coordination, including logistic planning and day-of event assistance.
  • Pour wine at tasting events once per week to develop a deep understanding of wines and customer base.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to sales, wine club, and inventory.
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock takes, ordering, and organization.
  • Ensure the tasting room is clean, well-stocked, and presentable.
  • Manage event logistics, including booking bands and coordinating caterers.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging content.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Proficiency in photography and basic graphic design skills.
  • Proficient in using or learning to use computers and various software, including POS systems and email marketing platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for wine and a willingness to learn about wines and the winemaking process.
  • Experience in a hospitality or retail environment is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in administration (2 years preferred).
  • Wine knowledge (2 years preferred).
