About the position

The Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC) at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated marketing and communications professional to develop and implement effective strategies that communicate the center's vision and support its mission. This role is crucial in ensuring the visibility of CRTC's programs and initiatives, and it involves advising and collaborating with leadership and staff to create impactful print and digital communications. The successful candidate will work closely with key campus offices and partners to promote the targeted services and programs offered by the CRTC, thereby supporting Washington University's multi-institution NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA). In this position, the individual will be responsible for planning and executing the center's marketing efforts, managing social media accounts, and coordinating various marketing initiatives. The role requires a proactive approach to engage with the community and raise awareness of the CRTC's initiatives. The candidate will also be expected to provide coordination and marketing support for special events, which may require availability outside of normal business hours. This position reports directly to the CRTC Manager and plays a vital role in enhancing the center's outreach and engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the department's social media marketing initiative, including Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and website updates.
  • Writes, edits, and maintains content for social media outlets for the department, including blog entries and Facebook/Twitter updates.
  • Maintains a log of all social media initiatives and content managers related to the department.
  • Monitors conversations about the department on social media outlets/channels.
  • Designs new marketing materials and updates outdated marketing materials such as physician biographical sketches, physician directories, and wallet cards.
  • Works with vendors to get price quotes for marketing projects.
  • Collaborates with key departmental personnel to ensure accuracy of marketing materials.
  • Provides coordination and marketing support for department special events; available to work events as needed outside of normal business hours.
  • Attends and coordinates photo shoots as necessary to support the Manager of Marketing Services.
  • Assists Practice Development Manager with entering physician visits and events in Excel.
  • Compiles folders for events to include handouts and evaluation sheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in social media space.
