About the position

The American Medical Association (AMA) is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for its Marketing & Membership Experience team. This hybrid role involves analyzing marketing campaigns to derive insights and recommendations aimed at improving membership performance. The analyst will monitor membership trends, provide comprehensive reports, and fulfill data requests from various teams, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze membership marketing campaigns to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Outline and define appropriate analytic approaches for marketing needs, including pre-and post-campaign analysis.
  • Provide actionable interpretations of analysis and present findings to management.
  • Make recommendations to improve campaign performance and drive membership growth.
  • Predict future membership trends based on historical data and current performance.
  • Compile monthly reports detailing membership performance, including acquisition rates, retention, and churn.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Create clear summaries of monthly reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and present data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.
  • Retrieve and organize data from various sources to fulfill data requests from different teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in data science, statistics, economics, business, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years experience in data analytics, database marketing, and campaign management.
  • Outstanding analytical, data manipulation, and reporting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in expressing analytic results.
  • Experience with forecasting models and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of data management systems and querying databases.
