The Marketing Cloud Developer plays a crucial role in our marketing team, responsible for the design, implementation, customization, and daily operations of the Marketing Cloud platform. This position is essential for executing successful marketing campaigns, delivering personalized customer experiences, and providing actionable insights that drive engagement and growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with a focus on building and deploying personalized email marketing modules, optimizing design and functionality across various email clients, and leveraging automation and dynamic content to maximize customer engagement. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and key agency partners to socialize and roll out email module libraries, respond to business requirements, and perform basic administrative functions within Marketing Cloud. You will also stay ahead of email best practices, ensuring that our marketing efforts align with the latest trends and technologies. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you interpret analytics and trends to identify actionable insights, execute A/B testing, and proactively address any issues that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test and deploy personalized email marketing modules via SFMC Content Builder
  • Develop Content Builder email templates and respective content blocks, requiring strong HTML/CSS, AMP for Email, AMPscript, Guide Template Language, Server-Side JavaScript
  • Connect content to corresponding data extensions for personalization, dynamic capability, and reporting
  • Lead the socialization and roll out of email module library to stakeholders across the organization and key agency partners
  • Own and execute ongoing requests for new modules or updates to existing content
  • Respond to common business requirements and perform basic administrative functions within Marketing Cloud with support of the SFMC administrator
  • Optimize design and email layout, and functionality across multiple email clients and mobile
  • Stay ahead of email best practices and help align the enterprise on how best to handle mobile-first email functionality, email accessibility, dark mode, AMP for Email, plain text, ALT text, etc.
  • Design and document solutions to leverage automation, dynamic content, data-driven segmentation, and other sophisticated Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities to maximize customer engagement and response
  • Interpret analytics/trends and identify actionable insights
  • Execute and implement A/B and multivariant testing as well as tracking and tagging best practices
  • Proactively identify and analyze issues/obstacles to determine and recommend appropriate courses of action
  • Perform other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required or a minimum of eight years directly related experience required
  • Minimum three years implementation experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Content Builder, Contact Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio, and Journey Builder required
  • Experience working with enterprise Marketing Cloud environments within multiple business units required
  • Experience with SFMC REST and SOAP API data transmission protocols
  • Experience working within other Salesforce Core applications including: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud, Analytics Cloud, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of privacy policies and anti-spam laws and regulations, such as CAN-SPAM, Apple Mail Privacy Protection, GDPR, and marketing consent
  • Knowledge of software architecture, design, and business requirement procurement
  • Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AMPScript, SQL, and SSJS
  • SFMC Email Specialist/Consultant/Developer/Administrator Certifications preferred
  • Proficiency in Java, React preferred
