About the position

The Marketing & Communication Specialist for the John V. Roach Honors College at Texas Christian University (TCU) is responsible for enhancing the visibility and reputation of TCU and the Honors College through strategic marketing and communication efforts. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to create and implement marketing plans, manage digital communications, and serve as a media liaison, all aimed at promoting the college's brand and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison with assigned business unit and the TCU Marketing and Communication unit.
  • Create and implement strategic marketing and communication plans to advance the assigned business unit brand.
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing and communication plans using metrics to ensure success.
  • Act as the primary storyteller for assigned business unit, generating and distributing content via various channels.
  • Oversee college digital communications, managing social media channels and websites.
  • Serve as media relations for assigned business unit events and support TCU Marketing and Communications for major events.
  • Collaborate with TCU Marketing and Communications to secure local media coverage and coordinate events.
  • Create marketing publications like brochures and reports for assigned business unit.
  • Coordinate assigned business unit marketing and communication projects using TCU's project management system.
  • Attend all Marketing and Communication related meetings and other necessary meetings.
  • Collaborate with other marketing and communication specialists to assist in editing materials and creating content.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, strategic communications, advertising, journalism or related field.
  • 3 plus years in advertising, marketing, public or media relations, journalism or related environment developing both digital and print content.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education communications and website management.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience using web content management systems.
