About the position

The Marketing Communications and Recruitment Manager at Brown University's Education Department is responsible for leading the marketing communications strategy and recruitment activities for two professional master's programs. This role involves developing content for various platforms to enhance the visibility and recognition of the department's programs, thereby attracting diverse applicants. The incumbent will collaborate with program directors and staff to implement digital strategies and outreach efforts, ensuring alignment with university-wide marketing initiatives. The position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for educational equity and a commitment to addressing educational inequality through effective communication and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of the department's marketing communications strategy.
  • Develop content for the Education Department's website, newsletter, and social media channels.
  • Enhance the visibility and recognition of graduate programs to attract diverse applicants.
  • Collaborate with graduate program directors to create direct outreach strategies for recruitment.
  • Manage partner relationships that support recruitment efforts.
  • Implement digital strategies in alignment with university-wide marketing initiatives.
  • Provide high-level support to the leadership team in content creation and marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five years of experience in digital marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience managing content and marketing strategies on social media platforms.
  • Experience measuring, analyzing, and reporting digital metrics.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, project management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Canva, Drupal, MailChimp, and WordPress.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms such as X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Experience in higher education marketing.
