About the position

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Sunwater Institute is responsible for creating and deploying marketing content to engage target audiences. This role involves managing social media, producing various content formats, and maintaining the organization's brand image. The coordinator will also foster partnerships and collaborations, contributing to the Institute's mission of strengthening liberal democracy through effective communication and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit engaging content for various platforms, including blogs, social media, newsletters, and websites.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and generate new content ideas that align with brand goals.
  • Draft written content to market products via email and social media.
  • Identify target audiences and develop a communications and marketing strategy.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans for revenue-generating products, including a Congressional data platform.
  • Drive the planning, preparation, editing, and distribution of content such as newsletters, articles, press releases, blogs, audio, video, and social media posts.
  • Provide marketing support for fundraising activities.
  • Manage the creation and operation of a video and audio content production studio.
  • Track, analyze, and report on metrics related to distribution, content consumption, and lead generation.
  • Develop relationships with media and influencers related to the Institute's work.
  • Work with the executive team to identify and execute partnerships and collaborations with other think tanks and academic institutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant marketing/communications experience.
  • Experience and network within the public policy or advocacy community and the US Congress.
  • Strong technical understanding of CRMs, marketing and communications platforms, lead generation, and reporting.
  • Ability to leverage quantitative analytics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
