About the position

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Providence Academy plays a pivotal role in promoting the Academy's mission through strategic external marketing and effective internal communication. This full-time, 12-month position is designed to enhance community awareness and engagement with the Academy's objectives. The Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include graphic design, copywriting, and editorial support for both print and digital publications, ensuring that the Academy's messaging is clear and impactful. In this role, the Coordinator will design, coordinate, and manage social media campaigns and electronic communications, acting as a vital link between the school and the media. Regular website maintenance and SEO analytics will also be part of the responsibilities, ensuring that the Academy's online presence is optimized and up-to-date. The Coordinator will support various departments, including athletics, admissions, and development, by creating and distributing marketing materials and fulfilling photography and videography needs. Participation in Academy events is essential, as the Coordinator will serve as the primary photographer and videographer, capturing day-to-day activities and special events. Collaboration with staff, directors, and external consultants will be necessary to ensure that all content aligns with the Academy's brand and mission, particularly emphasizing its Catholic identity and college preparatory focus. The role may also involve additional projects as assigned, contributing to the overall marketing and communications strategy of Providence Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide graphic design, layout, copywriting, editorial and distribution support for school publications, both print and digital, including the Academy's weekly E-bulletin communication.
  • Design, coordinate, and maintain all aspects of social media campaigns and electronic communications for various school efforts and serve as a liaison between the school and news media.
  • Conduct regular website maintenance/editing and perform SEO analytics.
  • Support various departments such as athletics, admissions, alumni, development, and performing arts through the creation and distribution of marketing outreach and engagement materials as well as photography/videography needs.
  • Participate in and attend Providence Academy events as it relates to supporting the position's role and responsibilities.
  • Serve as the photographer and videographer for day-to-day activities and events at the Academy, and coordinate the production of videos and photographs for online use and publication in collateral materials.
  • Collaborate with other staff, directors, and consultants regularly in both content design and strategy implementation.
  • Ensure school brand and mission is evident in all outreach aspects, chiefly the Catholic, College Prep nature of the Academy.
  • Perform related projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field(s) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with photography and videography, including editing and final production.
  • Experience working with external partners and agencies (i.e., mail houses, printers, Google, Facebook/Meta, Niche, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Deep understanding and appreciation for the school's brand, particularly its Catholic identity and dual presence in the Catholic school and Independent school marketplaces.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PremierPro, and PowerPoint), social media platforms, WordPress, and creative web-based media software.
