About the position

The Marketing Communications Manager at LifeSource is responsible for executing marketing and communication strategies that enhance stakeholder engagement and promote organ, eye, and tissue donation. This role involves overseeing branding, messaging, and communication initiatives, while leading a service-oriented team to implement strategic communication efforts that align with the organization's mission. The manager will work collaboratively across various levels of the organization to ensure effective communication both internally and externally, ultimately driving success in increasing donor registration and safeguarding the organization's reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor marketing, advertising, and public relations strategies to increase donor registry and brand awareness.
  • Lead media relations efforts to ensure appropriate representation and maintain positive relations with media sources.
  • Oversee the development of paid media campaigns in traditional and digital media in partnership with a local agency.
  • Support issues and crisis communications activities in collaboration with Executive Leadership.
  • Deploy public opinion surveys to strategize ways to educate and influence the public.
  • Oversee the development of print and digital communications materials for key audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement team to ensure message consistency.
  • Provide oversight of communication initiatives with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Develop corporate communications strategies for stakeholders, including financial contributors and the board of directors.
  • Engage in creating materials for donor families during the donation process and through aftercare programs.
  • Participate in community listening methods to inform marketing communications strategies.
  • Deploy communication strategies to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments.
  • Develop creative communications campaigns that engage the workforce across multiple channels.
  • Manage internal communications materials and provide guidance to leadership and staff on messaging.
  • Analyze metrics and adjust plans for continuous improvement in internal communications channels.
  • Provide training for workforce on communications tools and their appropriate use.
  • Lead and manage team members towards successful work process implementation.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations.
  • 3 years of proven leadership, mentoring, and coaching experience.
  • Valid driver license and reliable personal automobile for company use.
  • Experience in managing communications activities in healthcare, donation, or non-profit environments.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content strategy skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
  • Ability to lead a team and achieve measurable results against specific goals.
  • Effective at establishing rapport with diverse groups and personalities.
  • Skilled in overseeing social media and digital marketing content.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Competent in using technology-based tools and electronic medical record systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in health care communications or non-profit marketing.
