The Marketing & Communication Specialist for the City of Greensboro's Arts and Cultural Affairs Department is a dynamic role focused on promoting arts and culture within the community. This position involves managing social media, producing newsletters, writing and editing content, and providing customer service support. The ideal candidate will thrive in a creative environment and contribute to the department's mission of fostering inclusive artistic spaces and enriching the cultural life of Greensboro.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage Creative Greensboro's social media channels, including content creation, audience engagement, and analytics.
  • Develop and distribute a bi-weekly newsletter showcasing the latest arts programs and events.
  • Craft news releases, blogs, and other written materials that highlight the work of Creative Greensboro.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the Creative Greensboro website is regularly updated with fresh, accurate content.
  • Provide on-site marketing and communications support for Creative Greensboro events and activities as needed.
  • Serve as a key point of contact in the Greensboro Cultural Center, providing excellent customer service to visitors, patrons, and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a high school diploma with significant experience in marketing/social media.
  • 4-6 years of marketing/social media experience, or 8-10 years of experience with a high school diploma.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, InDesign software, Publisher, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Functional knowledge of social media platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with public speaking.
