About the position

As a Marketing & Communications Specialist at Centene Corporation, you will play a crucial role in transforming the health of our communities by assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a state-wide marketing and communication program. Your efforts will be pivotal in promoting a favorable public image of the company and its diverse product lines. You will be responsible for ensuring that all health-related materials distributed to members are designed, reviewed, and revised appropriately, maintaining high standards of content, readability, and translation accuracy. In this position, you will also assist in the development, promotion, and implementation of various statewide initiatives, including outreach events, healthcare education, and incentive programs. You will manage the ordering and tracking of promotional items across all products and service areas, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and reporting on the financial impact of these initiatives. Additionally, you will ensure that regional outreach staff complete monthly outreach calendars for all service areas, serving as a vital contact for community agencies, businesses, fundraisers, and community events. Your role will involve researching data, constructing ideas, laying out artwork, and representing the employer directly before the public. You will also prepare news releases, fact sheets, and compose letters as needed, contributing to the overall communication strategy of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the state-wide marketing & communication program.
  • Promote a favorable public image of the company and its product lines.
  • Design, review, and revise health-related materials for members, ensuring content appropriateness and readability.
  • Develop, promote, and implement statewide initiatives including outreach events and healthcare education.
  • Order and track promotional items for all products and service areas, ensuring budget compliance.
  • Ensure completion of monthly outreach calendars by regional outreach staff.
  • Serve as a contact for community agencies, businesses, and fundraisers.
  • Research data, construct ideas, and lay out artwork for public representation.
  • Prepare news releases, fact sheets, and compose letters as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of marketing or communications experience.
  • Knowledge of various writing techniques including newsletters, press releases, and promotional copy.
  • Prior copywriting experience on the Internet preferred.
