About the position

The University of Utah is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communications Specialist to join the Enrollment Marketing Team within Graduate Programs & Executive Education at the David Eccles School of Business. This full-time, on-campus role is essential for ensuring seamless collaboration between various programs and the marketing team. The Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of marketing initiatives aimed at driving enrollment and enhancing the brand presence of the school. The ideal candidate will possess a versatile skill set that includes content creation, design, and technical abilities, and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will manage and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, develop comprehensive marketing plans, and create compelling content for various platforms. The Specialist will also assist in designing visually appealing marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Suite, implement SEO strategies, manage Google Ads campaigns, and conduct market research to inform marketing strategies. Additionally, the Specialist will track and analyze the performance of marketing initiatives, coordinate the production of promotional materials, and maintain the recruiting events calendar. The position requires a proactive individual who is eager to learn and explore new marketing trends, tools, and techniques. The Specialist will work closely with remote team members, program directors, and other stakeholders to support marketing efforts and achieve enrollment goals. Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email, text, social media, digital advertising, and other collateral.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive marketing plans and calendars to ensure timely, consistent messaging.
  • Utilize tools such as Salesforce and Pardot to create emails and perform data entry.
  • Craft compelling content for various platforms, including email, copy, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to develop tailored content that resonates with prospective students.
  • Assist in creating visually appealing marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Implement and optimize SEO strategies to improve visibility and search rankings.
  • Manage Google Ads campaigns and analyze performance metrics using Google Analytics to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and enrollment targets.
  • Develop strong calls to action and innovative content ideas to support demand generation efforts.
  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities and inform marketing strategies.
  • Track and analyze the performance of marketing initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of promotional materials, including swag for programs.
  • Organize and maintain the recruiting events calendar and communications calendar.
  • Stay updated on the latest marketing trends and technologies, actively seeking out opportunities for professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field plus 3 years of related experience, or equivalency.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with a variety of computer software and project management tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both individually and in a team setting.
  • Proven experience in a marketing or communications role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field may be preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., WordPress, Salesforce, Pardot, Google Ads, Google Analytics).
  • Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, or other web programming languages is a plus.
