About the position

Siemens Industry is seeking a Marketing Communications Intern for our Electrification and Automation division, located in Wendell, NC. This internship is designed to support our portfolio of protection and automation products and solutions. As a Marketing Communications Intern, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our marketing efforts by collaborating with electrical engineering instructors to create engaging video content for training and social media. You will be responsible for recording and editing videos, which will be used for various marketing initiatives, including our Power Academy program. In addition to video production, you will create, edit, and proof marketing content for our LinkedIn page, website, and internal communication channels. Tracking the performance of social media posts will also be part of your responsibilities, where you will analyze engagement metrics and provide recommendations for improving our online presence. Furthermore, you will act as a producer for our virtual training classes, managing breakout rooms and ensuring that students receive the necessary technical support and access to materials. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing communications while working closely with industry professionals. We are looking for innovative students who are problem solvers and eager to contribute to the success of our company and its customers. This internship will provide you with exposure to Siemens products and services, as well as the chance to develop your technical skills and gain practical experience with various marketing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with electrical engineering instructors to record and edit training videos for social media.
  • Create, edit, and proof marketing content for LinkedIn, the company website, and internal channels.
  • Track social media post activity and engagement, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Act as a producer for virtual training classes, managing breakout rooms and providing technical support.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of business and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Located in or around Wendell, NC, and able to report in-person for work.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience or projects planning and implementing marketing campaigns.
  • Experience with video content creation, writing copy, and developing marketing collateral.
  • Proficiency with marketing tools and platforms such as Canva, SharePoint, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
