About the position

We have a great opportunity for a talented and dynamic Marketing Content Coordinator to join our Communications team to help elevate our brand's presence across various platforms. As a Marketing Content Coordinator, you will create and optimize content that resonates with our target audience and drives engagement. You will collaborate with our marketing team to develop compelling narratives that enhance our brand's voice and visibility. The Marketing Content Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of public relations and marketing programs, and provides writing and graphic design support. This role is crucial in the success and strategic direction of a growing and evolving community. The position requires a commitment to our core values and an appreciation for the diverse backgrounds of individuals within our community. In this role, you will work closely with Communications Specialists to implement strategic marketing plans, programs, and materials. You will create and design marketing materials and program guides, write and proofread content, and develop communication materials and supporting media, including media releases, articles, photos, videos, logos, and graphics. You will also participate in local community events to photograph for marketing purposes and distribute marketing communication materials. Conducting research and reporting on current and future marketing and public relations projects will be part of your responsibilities, as well as developing promotional and marketing strategies aimed at both internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Communications Specialists to implement strategic marketing plans, programs, and materials.
  • Creates and designs marketing materials and program guides.
  • Writes and proofreads content.
  • Develops communication materials and supporting media, including media releases, articles, photos, videos, logos, and graphics, for various formats including documents, presentations, newsletters, and the City website to promote and support City programs and initiatives.
  • Participates in local community events to photograph for marketing purposes; distributes marketing communication materials.
  • Conducts research and reports on current and future marketing and public relations projects meeting respective deadlines.
  • Develops promotional and marketing strategies, as well as education campaigns, for City programs and services aimed at both internal and external audiences.
  • Performs related work as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing or Communications with special emphasis in design, and 1 to 3 years of experience in marketing and graphic design.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience and proficiency with InDesign.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs including Illustrator and Photoshop.
