About the position

The Augustine Institute is seeking a Marketing Content Writer to enhance its mission of helping Catholics understand, live, and share their faith. This role involves crafting compelling communications that support various initiatives, including the Amen prayer app, Formed, Word of Life, and the Graduate School of Theology. The writer will be responsible for executing product and content marketing campaigns that educate and inspire audiences, ultimately contributing to the growth of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build a deep understanding of users, products, and customer journeys.
  • Write compelling copy for all channels including SEO, web, print, email, and social media.
  • Maintain Augustine Institute brand guides in collaboration with the Creative Director.
  • Develop content using the Augustine Institute brand guides.
  • Provide editorial review of copy from other marketing team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Approach writing projects with brand knowledge and a command of style manuals.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication in internal and cross-departmental relationships.
  • Use analytical insights to make content recommendations and decisions.
  • Provide copy and editorial review for physical collateral such as postcards, letters, signage, and brochures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of marketing experience with a focus on content writing and development.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with proven success in copy, grammar, and SEO writing.
  • Highly organized and process-driven, with excellent task management skills.
  • Experience working with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications with major digital platforms like Google, HubSpot, Adobe, etc.
  • An understanding of the Catholic Church and diocesan organization.
