About the position

The Marketing Coordinator for Group Sales is responsible for developing marketing materials and implementing sales strategies to enhance group sales and sponsorships for the Parks and Recreation Department. This role involves creating content for various platforms, managing relationships with clients, and ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the sales process. The position also requires participation in emergency duties during disasters and involves working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update a portfolio with departmental offerings for group sales, sponsorships, and advertisement.
  • Research, identify, and propose new business opportunities and fees to increase revenue from group sales and sponsorships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at corporate accounts, schools, and local organizations.
  • Customize group packages and proposals to meet client needs.
  • Coordinate logistics for group reservations with facility managers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with facility managers to create targeted campaigns and promotions.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets through effective prospecting and negotiation.
  • Stay informed about industry trends to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Provide facility tours for prospective clients.
  • Follow up with prospective clients to secure sales and sponsorships.
  • Attend networking functions and conduct sales presentations.
  • Produce activity and sales/marketing reports.
  • Develop creative social media content to engage potential customers.
  • Monitor and respond to customer reviews and comments on social media.
  • Create and maintain content for email newsletters.
  • Solicit and fulfill sponsorship and advertisement agreements.
  • Assist in updating the department's Marketing Plan.
  • Maintain internal and external websites for Parks and Recreation facilities.
  • Follow ADA guidelines in promotional materials and website content.
  • Produce and distribute marketing materials to promote special facilities and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business/Public Administration, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in sales, group sales, and marketing work.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Skilled in managing social media platforms.
  • Knowledge in photography, videography, and audio recording.
  • Skilled in audio, video, and graphics editing.
  • Knowledge in group sales and private event booking.
  • Considerable knowledge of research techniques in business development.
  • Working knowledge of webpage design and management tools.
  • Ability to write advertising copy for print and electronic media.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Constant Contact, and Adobe products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in videography.
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies for public sector organizations.
