About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Horseshoe Bossier is responsible for coordinating various marketing activities, including advertising, publicity, artwork, production, special events, and promotions. This role involves assisting in the creation and management of an annual marketing plan and budget that aligns with the guidelines set by Caesars Entertainment. The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure that all marketing initiatives are executed effectively and within budget. This position requires strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to manage and present marketing data and reports. In addition to the planning and budgeting responsibilities, the Marketing Coordinator will assist in media placements, special events, promotions, and public relations activities. This includes maintaining detailed records of marketing expenditures, reconciling bills, and preparing presentations for quarterly reviews. The role also involves maintaining a catalog of advertising materials and competitor analysis, ensuring that all marketing materials adhere to Caesars' branding guidelines. The Marketing Coordinator will attend events and assist with logistics, including setting up signage and coordinating vendor activities. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. The Marketing Coordinator must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and maintain a professional appearance at all times. This role is crucial in supporting the overall marketing strategy and enhancing the visibility of Horseshoe Bossier within the competitive landscape of the hospitality and gaming industry.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate responsibilities for all advertising, publicity, artwork, production, special events, and promotion activities.
  • Assist in the creation of an annual marketing plan and budget in accordance with Caesars' guidelines.
  • Communicate budget variances and forecasts during monthly P&L reviews with the Marketing Manager.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with media placement, special events, promotions, and public relations activities.
  • Maintain a monthly reconciliation binder for various marketing expenditures.
  • Reconcile bills with insertion/job orders and submit correct bills for payment to accounts payable.
  • Maintain computerized monthly budget spreadsheets showing budget to actual spends in all marketing areas.
  • Prepare binders and/or PowerPoint presentations for quarterly reviews.
  • Maintain binders for advertising and publicity copies, flash reports, and event attendance.
  • Update spreadsheets regarding RSVP rates, no-show rates, and key marketing indicators.
  • Attend events and assist with logistics such as signage placement and setup.
  • Maintain a cataloged photo library of property, events, and entertainment.
  • Coordinate vendor activities from inception to completion, including advertising agencies and event planners.
  • Ensure ads are approved by necessary departments prior to publication.
  • Monitor Horseshoe/Harrah's creative for consistency with branding guidelines.
  • Provide reports on advertising effectiveness and competitive analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in Hotel/Casino, Hospitality, and Food and Beverage Marketing, Advertising, and Publicity preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and PC computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to obtain appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance and be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Calendar Maker and Internet/Mail applications.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting in a marketing context.
