About the position

The Marketing Coordinator position at Weber State University is a part-time work-study role designed to support all marketing-related tasks within the organization. This position is crucial for ensuring that educational and exhibition programs are effectively communicated to the public, press, donors, and other stakeholders. The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Program and Communications Manager, as well as visiting artists and guest curators, to coordinate marketing efforts and maintain a consistent brand presence. The ideal candidate for this role should be detail-oriented and organized, possessing strong written and verbal communication skills. They should be adept at using various forms of technology and have excellent time management abilities. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and solve problems effectively. A high level of interest or background in visual arts, along with experience in marketing and social media, is essential. The candidate should be outgoing and mission-centered, aligning with the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Key responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of marketing, managing corporate and sponsor relationships, creating and designing marketing collateral, maintaining brand and asset management, and overseeing content and data management. The Marketing Coordinator will also be responsible for advertising, public relations, and social media efforts, including coordinating and scheduling social media posts and creating newsletters. Participation in DEI training is also a requirement to meet marketing goals and objectives. The role will utilize various creative tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Dropbox, Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Bloomerang, and WordPress.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of marketing including asset management, content design, and data management.
  • Create and design marketing collateral, including sponsor decks, donor packets, and presentation materials.
  • Ensure follow-through on membership, sponsorship, and donor perks.
  • Create and edit creative marketing collateral following the brand style guide.
  • Organize and maintain the content database and ensure the website is up to date.
  • Coordinate with local creatives for exhibitions, events, and campaigns.
  • Schedule and coordinate all social media activities.
  • Coordinate marketing programs and events, including newsletter creation.
  • Attend and document OCA events and perform other marketing work as assigned.
  • Gather and analyze digital marketing and content analytics from multiple sources.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years in a marketing position.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred majors include Business Administration, Arts, Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications.
