About the position

The Marketing Coordinator for Telemundo Orlando plays a pivotal role in supporting the development of local marketing, branding, promotional, and sales strategies. This position is essential for creating customized marketing materials tailored for new sales opportunities, which involves gathering competitive research and analyzing advertiser media spending. The coordinator will collaborate closely with sales teams to obtain media proposals and will be responsible for compiling, drafting, and editing marketing plan documents, ensuring they are adapted to various formats suitable for different audiences. In addition to these responsibilities, the Marketing Coordinator will be tasked with generating innovative ideas that could lead to new revenue sources. Staying informed about current events, trends, and competitive efforts is crucial for identifying these opportunities. The role requires working with a cross-functional team to track and execute marketing initiatives effectively. This includes coordinating with various departments such as finance for purchasing contest prizes, web teams for launching online campaigns, and promotions teams for advertising efforts. A significant aspect of this role involves spearheading social media contesting, which includes writing and confirming rules and regulations with legal teams, submitting production requests for creative content, reconciling winners, and recapping the success of campaigns. The coordinator will also work directly with clients and agencies, in partnership with the sales team, to address client needs and explore business options. Furthermore, the Marketing Coordinator will help coordinate marketing and community activities by tracking event dates, identifying necessary resources for events, and assisting in on-site execution as needed. Daily promotional and program logs for Telemundo 31 in Orlando will also be prepared as part of the job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customized marketing materials for new sales opportunities.
  • Gather competitive research and advertiser media spending.
  • Work with sellers to obtain media proposals.
  • Compile, draft and edit marketing plan documents and adapt to a variety of formats for different audiences.
  • Generate ideas that could lead to new sources of revenue by staying on top of current events, trends, and competitive efforts.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to track and execute marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate with various departments responsible for deliverables, including finance, web, and promotions.
  • Spearhead every aspect of social media contesting, including writing rules, submitting production requests, reconciling winners, and recapping campaign success.
  • Work with clients and agencies to address client needs and explore business options.
  • Help coordinate marketing and community activities by tracking event dates and identifying necessary resources for events.
  • Prepare daily promotional and program logs for T31 in Orlando.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.
  • At least one year's experience in promotion, advertising, marketing, or other related creative field.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Experience in social media planning and marketing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extremely strong writing and deck creation skills.
  • Previous professional experience in television production, ad sales, or marketing.
  • Exceptional project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • 3-5 years of marketing and/or advertising experience, preferably at an agency or in the entertainment industry.
  • Knowledge of entertainment brand marketing and advertising.
  • Strong attention to detail in a high-volume environment that requires extensive multi-tasking and meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional relationships and collaborate in a creative, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with consumer research, Nielsen/ComScore data, etc.
  • Familiarity with broadcast and/or digital sales systems.
  • Graphic design experience with proficiency in Photoshop and Final Cut Pro.
