About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Aramark plays a pivotal role in implementing and executing marketing programs that drive profitable business growth, enhance consumer satisfaction, and ensure client retention within a specific account. This position is integral to supporting various business initiatives, including pricing strategies, meal plan sales, overall sales growth, and consumer engagement for both the account and Aramark Collegiate Hospitality. The Marketing Coordinator is expected to uphold and represent the Aramark Collegiate Hospitality brand, the UNCW Dining brand, and the UNC Wilmington brand, ensuring that all marketing efforts align with these identities. In this role, the Marketing Coordinator will manage meal plan sales and promotions, particularly during summer orientations, to maximize revenue. They will be responsible for the creation, coordination, and execution of an events calendar in collaboration with the operations team and other marketing team members. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee student peer-to-peer groups, ensuring effective execution of voluntary meal plan selling, which includes hiring, training, and daily management of these groups. The Marketing Coordinator will also collaborate with team members to design necessary signage for events or operational needs and assist the marketing director in gathering and analyzing student feedback through various channels such as Happy or Not surveys, Voice of Customer (VOC) insights, Student Dining Board, and Student Government Association (SGA) meetings. They will contribute to the ongoing development of monthly newsletters for all stakeholders and support the development of Aramark's category and brand strategies across retail, residential, and catering channels, translating insights into innovative marketing solutions. Furthermore, the coordinator will assist in planning an annual marketing strategy that focuses on refining and enhancing key categories and proprietary brands, driving continuous improvement and innovation. This includes supporting the creation, repositioning, and refreshing of focus menu categories and proprietary brands, which encompasses menu construction and environmental design. The role also involves managing all aspects of development and ongoing management with Growth and Global Operating Excellence, including the creation of initial sales and operator training materials, rollout plans, and tools development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage meal plan sales and promotions including summer orientations to drive revenue.
  • Creation, coordination, and execution of the events calendar in collaboration with operations team and other members of the marketing team.
  • Manage student peer-to-peer groups to ensure proper execution of voluntary meal plan selling, including hiring, training, and day-to-day management.
  • Collaborate with team members to design needed signage for events or operational needs.
  • Assist the marketing director with student feedback through various channels such as Happy or Not, VOC, Student Dining Board, and SGA meetings.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of monthly newsletters for all stakeholders.
  • Support the development of Aramark category and brand strategies for retail, residential, and catering channels, translating insights to innovation.
  • Support the planning of an annual marketing plan with strategies and tactics to refine and enhance focus categories and proprietary brands to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Support the creation, repositioning, and/or refresh of focus menu category and proprietary brands including menu construct, environment/trade dress, etc.
  • Support the management of all aspects of the development and ongoing management with Growth, Global Operating Excellence including initial sales and operator training materials, roll-out plans, and tools development.

Requirements

  • Requires at least 1-3 years of experience in marketing; foodservice experience is beneficial.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, nutrition, food science, or business.
  • Strong project management experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including strong writing and presentation skills.
