About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort is responsible for a variety of daily marketing activities that are essential for the promotion and success of the casino's events and services. This role involves planning and executing promotions and special events, coordinating contracts and riders for entertainment, and managing audio-visual needs for these events. The Marketing Coordinator will also handle media coordination and scheduling, social media planning and postings, and the scheduling and proofing of email, mail, and other marketing materials. Additionally, the coordinator will participate in public relations activities and assist in the purchasing of marketing supplies while tracking expenses and budgets. In this position, exceptional customer service is paramount, as the coordinator will interact with both internal and external customers. Responsibilities include coordinating the details of casino promotions, tournaments, and events, which involves creating timelines, writing rules, setting up kiosks, purchasing supplies, and ensuring effective communication across all departments. The Marketing Coordinator will assist the Marketing Manager and Director in planning monthly marketing programs and will help create calendars and other materials necessary for successful implementation. Collaboration with other departments to plan marketing activities is also a key aspect of this role. The coordinator will conduct casino promotions, tournaments, and events, set up shows for sale in the company ticketing system, and coordinate the setup and teardown of events and promotional areas under the guidance of the Marketing Manager. Resolving customer complaints and inquiries regarding promotions and events is also part of the job. The Marketing Coordinator will research and document competitor promotions, assist at the Resort Club during VIP events, and help with gift distribution promotions. Furthermore, the role includes assisting the Marketing and Entertainment teams in planning entertainment, which involves contract proofing and coordination of technical requirements for performances. The Marketing Coordinator will also be responsible for proofing design materials, managing website content, and overseeing email and direct mail campaigns. Posting marketing information and calendars on promotional boards, changing property signage, and scheduling social media content are additional tasks. Monitoring online reputation and responding to reviews in a timely manner is crucial. The coordinator will work closely with the Marketing Director to maintain a project production schedule and will process sponsorship and donation requests while participating in public relations activities. Establishing effective working relationships with a diverse staff and interfacing with advertising agencies to meet advertisement deadlines are also essential functions of this role. Compliance with all Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations, as well as other local, state, or federal guidelines, is required. The Marketing Coordinator will also attend all company-required trainings and adhere to safety guidelines while meeting attendance requirements. This position requires flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Relations preferred, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Prior experience working in a marketing position within the hospitality industry.
  • High-level organizational skills and great attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Familiarity with audio/visual systems setup and functioning is a plus.
  • Competency in working with MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience with social media and reputation management platforms.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and in written form.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to qualify for and maintain an Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Class C license.
