About the position

The Center for the Study of Services (CSS)/Consumers' Checkbook team is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Washington, D.C. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our social media presence, managing email communications, and overseeing digital advertising efforts. The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with various staff members across the organization, ensuring that our marketing strategies align with our mission to provide valuable information to consumers regarding healthcare services. This position will report directly to the Senior Digital Marketing & Fundraising Manager, who will provide guidance and support in executing marketing initiatives. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing engaging content that resonates with our audience and drives engagement across our digital platforms. You will utilize your strong writing and editing skills to create compelling narratives that highlight our services and research findings. Additionally, you will analyze user behavior and audience segmentation to inform our marketing strategies, ensuring that our communications are data-driven and effective. This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring you to work in the office two days a week while allowing for up to three days of remote work. CSS/Consumers' Checkbook is an established nonprofit research organization with a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the organization's social media presence.
  • Manage email communications and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Develop engaging content for various digital platforms.

  • Collaborate with staff across the organization to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing or communications, or recent graduates with superior academic credentials.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Understanding of audience segmentation, user behavior, and data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of HTML and content management systems like WordPress.

Nice-to-haves

  • Video editing skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing automation platforms like HubSpot.
  • Previous nonprofit experience.
