About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at DOWL plays a crucial role in supporting marketing proposals, projects, and services within a professional services consulting firm. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic marketing professional eager to develop new skills while collaborating with a multi-state team of marketing experts, engineers, and clients. The role involves guiding project managers on marketing best practices, managing proposal planning, and coordinating high-quality proposals for diverse projects in the built environment.

Responsibilities

  • Guide project managers and other technical staff on marketing and business development best practices and internal procedures.
  • Oversee and manage qualifications-based proposal planning and go/no-go decisions, assisting with strategy.
  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality engineering, environmental, planning, and related proposals across the company.
  • Develop schedules and draft outlines, resumes, and past experience write-ups in collaboration with project managers.
  • Coordinate proposal writing efforts with engineering/planning teams.
  • Work with proposal team and graphics staff to develop engaging graphics for proposals and marketing materials.
  • Write/edit/proof/produce/deliver proposals with assistance from engineering/planning staff.
  • Review daily subscription services for notices of A/E requests for proposals and distribute them accordingly.
  • Maintain database information on staff, projects, clients, and vendors.
  • Coordinate with project managers to enter and update sales pipeline information in Deltek.
  • Track proposals submitted, report on results, and assist with debriefings.
  • Prepare Statements of Qualifications.
  • Occasionally coordinate trade show exhibits, promotions, packaging, shipping, and participate in trade shows when necessary.
  • Help prepare for involvement in community organizations and events.
  • Interact with clients on teaming arrangements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including presentations, marketing collateral, and data entry.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from a four-year college or university and two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Two years' related A/E/C and writing experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write proposals, qualification packages, reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Adobe InDesign is required.
  • Typing accuracy at a reasonable pace (not less than 40 words per minute).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in marketing within the A/E/C industry.
  • Familiarity with Deltek software.
