About the position

Miller Johnson, one of Michigan's largest full-service law firms, is seeking a full-time Practice Group Marketing Coordinator for its Grand Rapids or Detroit office. This role is integral to the marketing and business development department, focusing on coordinating practice group activities to effectively market to external contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Create, write, and facilitate updates to marketing and business development materials, including proposals, brochures, social media content, and media releases.
  • Develop and coordinate the preparation of firm proposals, collaborating with the director of marketing and key attorneys.
  • Outline, write, and interact with attorneys to develop presentations for marketing events.
  • Manage all aspects of client events, including venue selection, invitations, and on-site management.
  • Maintain the Contact Relationship Management (CRM) System to track client attendance at events and workshops.
  • Serve as the point person for practice group advertising requests and support advertising planning and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or public relations preferred.
  • Public relations and communications experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, Photoshop, and CRM systems.
  • Exceptional client service skills, discretion, and judgment to ensure client confidentiality.
  • Ability to think creatively and implement proactive solutions.
  • Flexible and collaborative in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves
