About the position

The Center for the Study of Services (CSS)/Consumers' Checkbook team is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Washington, D.C. This full-time position is integral to maintaining and enhancing our social media presence, managing email communications, and overseeing digital advertising efforts. The Marketing Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Digital Marketing & Fundraising Manager and will collaborate closely with various staff members across the organization to ensure cohesive marketing strategies and effective communication of our mission. In this role, the Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for developing engaging content that resonates with our audience, utilizing data-driven marketing strategies to optimize outreach efforts. The position requires a strong understanding of audience segmentation and user behavior, as well as proficiency in content management systems, particularly WordPress. The successful candidate will also have experience in digital marketing, with a focus on creating compelling narratives that drive engagement and support our organizational goals. This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring the candidate to work in the office two days per week, while offering the flexibility to work from home for up to three days. All necessary equipment will be provided to facilitate a productive work environment. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the organization's social media presence.
  • Manage email communications and digital advertising campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing or communications, with consideration for recent graduates with superior academic credentials.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
  • Understanding of audience segmentation, user behavior, and data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of HTML and content management systems like WordPress.
  • Video editing skills (preferred).
  • Knowledge of marketing automation platforms like HubSpot (preferred).
  • Previous nonprofit experience (preferred).
