About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Phelps Dunbar LLP plays a crucial role in the operation and performance of various marketing systems, including content management systems, contact relationship management, experience databases, and email marketing. This position is designed for a dynamic and organized individual who will support the firm's marketing and business development projects, focusing particularly on event coordination. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a series of marketing platforms to ensure quality data, relationship tracking, and list management, while also ensuring compliance with firm protocols and email regulatory requirements. In this role, the Marketing Coordinator will assist in the planning, execution, and management of client-facing events such as seminars, conferences, client appreciation events, and internal gatherings. Key responsibilities include managing event logistics, promotional item ordering, staffing, set-up and takedown, and processing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements. The coordinator will implement promotional strategies to maximize event attendance and engagement, manage email campaigns, and update website content to reflect upcoming events. Additionally, the Marketing Coordinator will develop event timelines, create and send invitations and agendas, and assist with the creation of event collateral such as nametags, signage, PowerPoints, and handouts. Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of event marketing strategies will also be a critical part of the role, as the coordinator will collect and analyze data related to event attendance, participant feedback, and overall satisfaction to determine event success and return on investment. The position also involves assisting with marketing communications by writing and editing content consistent with AP and firm style, updating firm webpages via the content management system, and maintaining the Marketing & Business Development team's intranet pages. Administrative tasks related to event management, including budget tracking, invoice processing, and maintaining a calendar of events, will also be part of the coordinator's responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and management of client-facing events, including seminars, conferences, and client appreciation events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing or event planning, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with event management software and CRM platforms like HubSpot.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
