This includes writing and posting content on the department's website, as well as creating and maintaining a content calendar for social media platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). The Marketing Coordinator will also be responsible for graphic design and video editing, ensuring that all content aligns with the department's brand style guide. In addition to content creation, the Marketing Coordinator will provide administrative support to the marketing team, which includes tracking inventory of branded materials, updating email lists, and assisting with onboarding tasks. The role also involves drafting and sending out the department's monthly e-newsletter, coordinating with various stakeholders for content. Event support is another key aspect of this position, where the coordinator will assist in organizing department events, from updating event calendars to managing logistics on the day of the event. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of relevant experience. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for writing and maintaining content pipeline for all web stories about the department's research, faculty, students, and alumni.
  • Act as the main liaison for College of Engineering Communications & Marketing news team to pitch stories about the department and coordinate larger news opportunities.
  • Post web stories and other content to the department website.
  • Create content for department social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Maintain a content calendar and provide monthly reporting on social media analytics.
  • Responsible for graphic design and video editing of social media content in keeping with the department's brand style guide.
  • Create presentations, flyers, internal screen advertisements, posters, etc. for various meetings, events, campaigns, and marketing efforts.
  • Support the department's communication and marketing team by tracking branded swag inventory, updating email lists, and assisting with onboarding tasks for department members.
  • Collect, draft, and send the internal U-M ME department monthly e-newsletter by connecting with department managers and other stakeholders for content.
  • Support events run by the department such as endowed professorships, lectures, and team building events, including pre-event support and day-of logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related area.
