About the position

The Marketing Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of Thread's comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. This position focuses particularly on the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy and campaigns aimed at driving resource recruitment and retention. The Marketing Coordinator will be instrumental in implementing tactics that enhance brand awareness, ensure consistency in messaging, and align with the organization's overarching goals. In this role, the Marketing Coordinator will assist in the creation and management of marketing automation efforts using Salesforce. This includes audience segmentation, campaign creation, execution, and lifecycle planning to foster higher engagement levels among existing community members. The Coordinator will also be responsible for writing, designing, and distributing monthly newsletters targeted at volunteers and the broader community. Additionally, they will design and manage both print and digital templates for recruitment and retention materials that effectively communicate Thread's mission and objectives. The position requires proactive outreach to external media and community partners to increase visibility and drive resource recruitment. The Marketing Coordinator will manage internal requests for communications support from the recruitment team and other stakeholders, ensuring that all communications are timely and effective. They will also support the cultivation and management of press and external speaking opportunities for staff and community members, create dashboards and reports in Salesforce, and provide photography and video support as needed. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary to support the marketing and communications efforts of Thread.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of marketing automation efforts in Salesforce, including audience segmentation, campaign creation and execution, and lifecycle planning.

  • Design and manage print and digital templates for recruitment and retention materials that articulate Thread's mission.
  • Increase visibility and drive resource recruitment through proactive outreach for external media and community awareness opportunities.
  • Manage and traffic internal requests for communications support from Thread's recruitment team and other stakeholders.
  • Support the cultivation, prioritization, and management of press and external speaking opportunities for staff and community members.
  • Create dashboards and reports in Salesforce.
  • Provide photography and video support.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2-4 years experience in communications or external relations.
  • Experience using Salesforce and marketing automation tools, particularly Account Engagement (Pardot).
  • Experience or functional knowledge of CRM concepts and best practices.
  • Graphic design experience preferred, with working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and Canva or similar graphic design software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage projects, organize and complete complex tasks, and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Ability to understand and develop passion for Thread's mission.
  • Collaborative approach to finding solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to use judgment and objectivity in various roles.
  • Creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals.
  • Prior experience with nonprofit communications preferred.
  • Experience editing and maintaining website content on WordPress preferred.
