About the position

Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC) is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic team of professionals in Chicago, IL. This role is pivotal in coordinating and producing high-quality RFQ/P responses and presentations that align with the needs of our staff and project pursuits. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will work closely with the marketing manager team to enhance and expand LJC's presence and portfolio through strategic project pursuits and client relationships. Our marketing team thrives on collaboration, working across various disciplines within LJC and our parent company, Clayco, to deliver vertically integrated projects in the construction and real estate sectors. In this role, you will be responsible for producing effective proposals, qualifications, and presentations that are not only high-quality but also delivered on time. You will collaborate with market leaders, technical staff, and consultants across diverse sectors to create compelling RFP/Q responses. Additionally, you will engage in other marketing initiatives, including award submissions, internal newsletters, and the annual design publication for LJC. Your writing skills will be essential as you update project narratives and personnel resumes for marketing purposes. A keen eye for graphic design, including layouts and typography, will be crucial to maintaining the LJC brand across all marketing channels. The Marketing Coordinator position requires a proactive and collaborative approach, as you will be working with designers, architects, and other professionals on various projects. The fast-paced environment demands excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task effectively while meeting multiple deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and produce high-quality, on-time proposals, qualifications, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with market leaders, technical and design staff, and consultants to produce RFP/Q responses.
  • Produce other marketing efforts, including award submissions, internal newsletters, and LJC's design annual publication.
  • Write and/or update new project narratives and personnel resumes for marketing purposes.
  • Maintain the accuracy of CRM, Knowledge Management, and Marketing Drive.
  • Collaborate with designers, architects, and other professionals on various projects as needed.
  • Ensure the LJC brand is maintained across all marketing channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in design, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing within a professional service field, preferably in the built environment (architecture, engineering, construction, development, and/or real estate).
  • Experience with producing and responding to RFPs.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a creative environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign.
  • Strong graphic design knowledge in layouts, typography, and marketing language.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive personality with excellent time management skills.
  • Conscientious problem solver.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
