About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Guerilla Opera plays a crucial role in promoting the organization's innovative and experimental works. This part-time position involves strategic planning, creative marketing, and hands-on event management to enhance audience engagement and support the mission of the opera company.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly administrative staff meetings to align on priorities and initiatives.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive marketing calendar on Asana, ensuring task assignments are clear and deadlines are met.
  • Regularly report progress and insights to the Executive Director or interim and relevant committees.
  • Perform constant constituent data analysis and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director or interim, as well as key committees, to develop and execute marketing plans that drive Guerilla Opera's growth and mission.
  • Identify strategies that align with Guerilla Opera's unique vision, upholding high ethical standards in all executions.
  • Develop, write, and distribute press releases, with timely follow-ups to media contacts to secure coverage and enhance our brand visibility.
  • Craft and manage updates, event listings, graphics, and copy, ensuring all links are accurate and active.
  • Draft and execute email newsletters for events, updates, news, keeping content engaging and aligned with our brand.
  • Coordinate and design materials like postcards and invitations, managing the printing and mailing process.
  • Design visually appealing graphics and write engaging copy for all social media posts, maintaining consistent branding and messaging.
  • Collaborate with the Development Coordinator on social media fundraising campaigns and strategies.
  • Execute email marketing tactics, enhancing audience engagement and fostering loyalty.
  • Support Guerilla Opera productions by acting as Box Office Manager when needed, handling ticket processing, and serving as Front of House Manager.
  • Coordinate volunteers and staff for events and serve as host when required.
  • Collaborate with partner box office and marketing teams to ensure cohesive messaging, approved graphics, and accurate event information.
  • Work closely with the Development Coordinator to maintain up-to-date event information and constituent records in the Little Green Light database.
  • Manage interns, ensuring they receive guidance and direction on tasks.
  • Partner with the Development Coordinator to enhance communication efforts through Guerilla Opera's donor database.

Requirements

  • Strong passion for Guerilla Opera's mission and programming
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with any or all of the following programs: Asana, Canva, Google Workspace, Zoom, MailChimp, Little Green Light, and META
  • Experience overseeing program staff and interns
  • Background in music or arts
  • 2 years of experience
  • Flexible availability to meet program needs
