About the position

The Asian Art Museum, located in the heart of San Francisco, is home to one of the world's finest collections of Asian art, featuring over 18,000 artworks that span from ancient jades and ceramics to contemporary video installations. We are actively seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our team, an exceptional opportunity to work in an organization that values creativity, teamwork, collaboration, and inclusion. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will perform a wide variety of duties in support of the museum's marketing and communications campaigns. Your responsibilities will include assisting with campaign execution, traffic management, and supporting digital marketing efforts. You will regularly engage with staff, vendors, visitors, volunteers, members, and colleagues in a personable and respectful manner, ensuring that all marketing deliverables and deadlines are met. This position requires strong project coordination and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. You will assist with the planning, execution, and wrap-up of marketing and communication campaigns, including maintaining the departmental projects calendar, facilitating interdepartmental tasks, and gathering metrics to create campaign summary reports. Additionally, you will execute digital marketing efforts, coordinate media relations events, manage vendor relationships, and prepare and track departmental budgets. This role is crucial in establishing and nurturing strong working relationships with various stakeholders, ensuring the museum's marketing efforts are successful and impactful.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, execution, and wrap-up of marketing and communication campaigns.
  • Create and maintain the departmental projects calendar.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental tasks and obtain images for campaigns.
  • Execute promotions and other marketing plan elements.
  • Track and disseminate collateral and creative projects.
  • Gather metrics and create campaign summary reports.
  • Maintain campaign media plans and execute digital marketing efforts.
  • Produce e-newsletters and email blasts, coordinate display advertising and SEM, and schedule social media posts.
  • Coordinate tactical elements of onsite and offsite media relations events.
  • Ensure all marketing deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Manage campaign schedules and deadlines, oversee the proofing and feedback process, and submit final files to vendors.
  • Maintain the marketing and communication department's editorial content calendar.
  • Prepare and track departmental and special program budgets; monitor expenditures and transactions.
  • Process invoicing, create expense reports, check requests, and contracts as needed.
  • Establish and nurture strong working relationships with museum staff, colleagues, patrons, consultants, and vendors.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Three years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional project coordination and organizational skills.
  • Technical proficiency with standard office and marketing applications (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proficiency with marketing tools and applications (Smartsheet, Trello, MailChimp, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and determine priorities.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to display sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and platforms as technologies evolve.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to thirty (30) pounds.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.
