About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Campus Auxiliary Services (CAS) at SUNY Geneseo plays a vital role in managing internal and external marketing efforts. This position involves coordinating with marketing professionals to implement innovative campaigns for branding, events, promotions, and product launches. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for conducting market research, analyzing campaign results, and creating content across various marketing channels to ensure brand consistency. The role requires strong project management skills and collaboration with creative teams to develop effective marketing strategies that support the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to monitor and identify customer trends, competitor offerings, and demographic data.
  • Utilize effective marketing and promotional channels to relay product messages to customers.
  • Report findings of market trends to the Director and suggest ways to incorporate trends into future marketing initiatives.
  • Investigate opportunities for new technologies to optimize CAS.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop branding ideas, graphic designs, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with the implementation of the communications strategy including social media, digital advertising, email, and print.
  • Create, develop, edit, monitor, and publish content for all platforms, ensuring brand voice consistency.
  • Evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns through key performance metrics.
  • Create innovative marketing campaigns based on data and present recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate, organize, and participate in special events at each location in collaboration with the management team and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, new media, journalism, or related field.
  • Two or more years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or journalism, ideally within the services/restaurants/hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
  • Knowledge of website, social media, email, and other marketing analytics tools.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in creating content for multiple social channels.
  • Photography and videography experience preferred.
