About the position

The Schweitzer Marketing team is seeking an outgoing individual with a passion for winter sports and outdoor recreation to join our community at Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Sandpoint, ID. This year-round, hourly position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in the outdoor recreation marketing industry. The successful candidate will assist in a diverse range of marketing duties, including copywriting, social media management, asset management, industry research, website support, and special events support. This role is perfect for someone looking to make their mark in a fun and dynamic environment while contributing to the vibrant culture of Schweitzer. In this position, you will support the marketing team by creating engaging copy for various platforms, including advertising, the website, social media posts, app notifications, and e-newsletters. You will also be responsible for proofreading creative content and ensuring accuracy across all marketing channels. Regular audits of the website and app will be part of your responsibilities, along with making necessary copy updates and conducting biannual reviews of the website. Monitoring social media channels, managing comment responses, and engaging with guests will be key components of your role. You will collaborate with the creative team to organize content libraries, coordinate photo requests, and assist in small-scale photo and video shoots. Staying informed about trends in the outdoor and hospitality industries will be essential, as you will analyze competitor products and promotions to enhance our marketing strategies. Additionally, you will partner with the Marketing team and the Special Events Manager to fulfill sponsorship requirements and support cross-functional needs within the resort.

Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing team with copywriting for advertising, website, social media posts, app pushes, and e-newsletters.
  • Proofread creative for advertising and other marketing channels as assigned.
  • Review/audit the website and app for accuracy, make copy updates, and conduct biannual page reviews of the full website.
  • Help monitor social media, manage comment responses, guest messages, and reviews for all Schweitzer outlets.
  • Work with the creative team to keep track of shot lists, organize/tag content libraries, and coordinate photo requests.
  • Organize and coordinate small scale resort photo/video shoots.
  • Stay up to date on trends, technology, and the outdoor/hospitality industry and keep the team informed of new developments.
  • Analyze competitor products, promotions, and advertising to inform and improve marketing strategies.
  • Partner with the Marketing team and the Special Events Manager to fulfill resort sponsorship requirements and reporting with various brands around the resort.
  • Support cross-functional needs with resort business units.

Requirements

  • Outgoing personality with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, written, and verbal skills.
  • Photography and/or videography skills are a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Outlook, Teams, and Sharepoint is desired.
  • Self-starter with high energy and a desire to positively impact the business and brand.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and passion for the outdoor recreation industry.
  • Advanced ski or snowboard experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license, insurable by Schweitzer.
