The Marketing Coordinator at Salt Lake Bouldering Project plays a crucial role in curating human connection, both in the physical and digital realms. This position is designed for a community builder and communicator who excels at bringing people together and delivering messages that resonate, particularly through social media and email communications. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for driving membership growth by creating and maintaining customer acquisition and retention routines using our growing contact database and CRM platform (Customer.io). This role will also involve integrating the gym into the local community through grassroots marketing efforts, such as event tabling and partnership development with schools, non-profits, businesses, and affinity groups. The coordinator will develop and execute marketing plans for various events, products, classes, workshops, and sales in collaboration with the gym leadership team. Additionally, they will create and publish marketing assets, including social media videos, print materials using brand templates, and community newsletters. The Marketing Coordinator will drive the social strategy for Salt Lake BP's social platforms, including content creation and reporting. They will maintain information accuracy across communication channels such as the local website, brochures, signage, and the internal events calendar. Analyzing data to make improvements and provide recommendations on marketing strategy and areas of focus will also be part of the role. Collaboration with the corporate marketing team and assisting in the local execution of company-wide initiatives will be essential. The coordinator will connect with local climbers, staff, and community members to foster growth and interest in the gym.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, ideally including experience with social media and email marketing.
  • Experience growing a community.
  • Event planning and coordination experience.
  • Availability on nights and weekends.
  • Highly collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly personable, enjoys meeting new people, and talking to groups.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and is able to lead without direct supervision.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn.
  • Must be passionate about climbing.
