About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Lamar University is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that align with the College of Business (CoB) and support broader university marketing efforts. This role involves leading recruitment and marketing activities for undergraduate and graduate programs, including outreach to K-12 institutions. The coordinator will manage the college's web presence and social media platforms, ensuring cohesive branding and messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives for the College of Business.
  • Serve as the college web liaison, updating and maintaining the CoB website.
  • Manage social media platforms to ensure a cohesive presence for the university and CoB.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities with directors and chairs of CoB programs.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Admissions to recruit prospective students using the university CRM (Slate).
  • Develop content for recruitment purposes in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Write and distribute news releases to promote students, faculty, staff, and events.
  • Work with the Office of Alumni Affairs to promote CoB products to graduates.
  • Ensure compliance with AACSB requirements on the publication of school performance.
  • Provide support for presentations by ensuring consistent and up-to-date messaging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of one to two years of work experience in sales, marketing, communications, or a related area.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communication, or a related field preferred.
  • Two to three years of professional, full-time work experience related to marketing and communications involving client or student engagement.
  • Experience in higher education recruitment, admissions, and/or marketing and communications.
  • Experience managing projects and working within time constraints.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and HTML.
