About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Grand Pacific Hotel Services LP is responsible for promoting the brand image of the Westin/Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa both internally and externally. This role involves a variety of marketing functions, primarily focusing on social media management, event promotion, and reputation management. The coordinator will assist in maintaining the social media pages for the resort and its various outlets, including food and beverage, spa services, and events. This includes scheduling, editing, publishing, and sharing content to engage with the audience effectively. In addition to social media management, the Marketing Coordinator will monitor the internet and social media platforms to manage the company's brand reputation. They will support the promotion of property events through various social media channels and utilize metrics to measure the success of different marketing strategies. The role also involves helping to identify market needs and developing targeted marketing campaigns. The coordinator will oversee projects in collaboration with public relations, social media, and influencer agencies, ensuring that all marketing efforts align with the overall brand strategy. The position requires adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the CDC and GPR, particularly in light of COVID-19 regulations. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the coordinator must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining social media pages for the Westin/Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa property.
  • Schedule, edit, publish, and share content on social media.
  • Monitor internet and social media pages for brand reputation management.
  • Promote property events through social media sources.
  • Use metrics to measure the success of various marketing sources and tactics.
  • Help determine need periods for markets and develop campaigns accordingly.
  • Oversee projects with PR, social, and influencer agencies.
  • Support digital marketing with various campaigns and project-based work.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines set forth by the CDC and GPR.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree or actively pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Experience with marketing, social media, and/or PR is preferred.
  • Proficient with social media and presentation software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and blogs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
  • Graphic design and layout experience.
  • Familiarity with marketing principles.
