About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Carte Hotel San Diego Downtown is responsible for leading print and digital marketing initiatives to enhance the hotel's visibility and engagement. This role involves supporting the sales team with various administrative tasks while managing social media campaigns, creating digital and print marketing materials, and overseeing website content. The position requires a blend of creativity, organization, and communication skills to effectively promote the hotel and assist in achieving sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support with a focus on marketing (60%), sales (30%), and reservations (10%).
  • Conduct eCommerce, website performance, and social media reporting.
  • Create and manage an email database.
  • Coordinate hotel photo shoots and manage digital image assets.
  • Develop and execute online email and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with monthly email deployment and response management.
  • Monitor social media engagement and manage online reputation.
  • Support internet marketing budget planning and ongoing campaign management.
  • Assist the Revenue team with rooming lists and reservations as needed.
  • Create content for press releases, collateral, web copy, social media, and internal announcements.
  • Liaise with GMCVB to host prequalified influencers for media press.
  • Assist with sales reporting, prospecting, and office phone coverage.
  • Create and post regular monthly social media content across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Respond to online reviews on platforms such as Yelp, TripAdvisor, Expedia, and Booking.com.
  • Assist Sales Managers with quote management and client receptions.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of hotel hospitality experience.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and media community management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and energetic personality.
  • Experience with content management and web analytics.

  • Experience in multichannel marketing.
  • Knowledge of social media engagement strategies.
