About the position

The Marketing Copywriter for Retail Media at Trade School is a freelance role focused on enhancing the brand voice and content strategy for clients in the retail media industry. This position involves collaborating with the marketing team to create compelling narratives that effectively communicate the client's unique value proposition across various marketing channels. The role aims to improve the existing communications strategy framework and ensure consistency in messaging while translating complex retail media concepts into accessible content.

Responsibilities

  • Clearly communicate the client's unique value proposition to set them apart in the retail media industry, copywriting impactful narratives that translate back to the brands existing communications strategy framework
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to create powerful marketing content, aligning with the brand narratives, while improving overall storytelling to strengthen messaging coherence across marketing channels such as Website, LinkedIn, Industry Events, etc.
  • Provide a strategic lens for copywriting in digital media, retail media and ad technology space to capture readers' attention
  • Ensure that clients content and communications are consistent with the retail media industry while focusing on what makes our client stand apart from the rest
  • Translate retail media trends, technologies, and metrics into understandable and easily digestible narratives that tie back to our clients communications strategy
  • Clearly articulate clients unique value proposition to quickly convey what sets them apart
  • Copyedit and proofread materials for quality and consistency, including grammar, punctuation and brand voice considerations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of communications, marketing, or journalism experience
  • 5+ years of digital content or content marketing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in digital media or digital journalism
  • Knowledgeable about digital media, retail media and/or ad technology and able to apply these insights to their work
  • Excellent writer, communicator, and copy editor with the ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, concise copy, while maintaining high quality work with their attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience copywriting for websites or LinkedIn a plus
  • Experience copywriting sales enablement materials for retail or digital media networks a plus
