About the position

Simon & Schuster is seeking a Marketing Copywriter to enhance the Pimsleur language learning subscription business. This role involves creating engaging and persuasive copy across various digital marketing channels, ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with brand voice and customer acquisition goals. The Marketing Copywriter will be responsible for transforming core messages into compelling stories that drive engagement and conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Write copy for paid and organic social media, display banners, email campaigns, affiliate partnerships, and search ads.
  • Assist in creating strategic marketing content that supports brand initiatives and growth.
  • Lead copy creation for landing pages, ensuring a seamless user experience that drives conversions.
  • Develop copy for lifecycle email campaigns, including welcome emails, retention campaigns, and promotional newsletters.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to test different copy variations for landing pages, ads, and emails to identify what resonates most with target audiences.
  • Work with SEO lead to write user interface copy for web and mobile platforms, optimizing for user experience and search engine visibility.
  • Strategize, create, and lead development of compelling organic social media content.
  • Work with graphic designer to produce cohesive, visually engaging marketing materials.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a conversion copywriter, preferably in a performance marketing or direct-to-consumer environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creativity across diverse content formats with tangible results and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to turn trending cultural moments into brand engagement opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Comfortable analyzing metrics and adapting copy based on audience feedback.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, audience segmentation, and landing page optimization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the publishing industry.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices.
