About the position

The Marketing Copywriter at Simon & Schuster will play a crucial role in enhancing the Pimsleur language learning subscription business by creating engaging and persuasive copy across various digital marketing channels. This position focuses on transforming core messages into compelling stories that resonate with the target audience, ensuring consistent brand voice and messaging throughout all marketing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Write copy for paid and organic social media, display banners, email campaigns, affiliate partnerships, and search ads, ensuring alignment with Pimsleur's brand voice and customer acquisition goals.
  • Assist in creating strategic marketing content that supports brand initiatives and growth, ensuring all content reflects Pimsleur's voice and messaging across multiple platforms.
  • Lead copy creation for landing pages, collaborating with designers to ensure a seamless user experience that drives conversions from visitors to subscribers.
  • Develop copy for lifecycle email campaigns, including welcome emails, retention campaigns, and promotional newsletters.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to test different copy variations for landing pages, ads, and emails to identify what resonates most with target audiences, using data-driven insights to refine messaging.
  • Work with SEO lead to write user interface copy for web and mobile platforms, optimizing for both user experience and search engine visibility.
  • Strategize, create, and lead development of compelling organic social media content writing posts geared toward driving site engagement and subscription starts.
  • Work with graphic designer to produce cohesive, visually engaging marketing materials and participate in brainstorming sessions to bring fresh, innovative ideas to life.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a conversion copywriter, preferably within a performance marketing or direct-to-consumer environment.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing creativity across diverse content formats with tangible results and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to turn trending cultural moments into brand engagement opportunities.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Comfortable analyzing metrics and adapting copy based on audience feedback.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, audience segmentation, landing page optimization, and making creative choices based on data.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work closely with designers, marketing managers, and data analysts.
