About the position

As a Marketing Data Engineer at Edible, you will play a crucial role in implementing tracking and tagging solutions that support the creation of eCommerce and marketing channel data. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure data integrity through regular audits and maintain tagging and tracking across Edible's properties. This position requires a data-driven mindset, self-starting attitude, and a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with various teams to solve data challenges and optimize digital user experiences. You will be tasked with providing solutions that enable marketing and eCommerce teams to enhance their strategies, focusing on key metrics such as conversion rate, return on ad spend (ROAS), customer acquisition cost (CAC), average order value (AOV), and purchase frequency. Your work will involve aggregating data from various sources, including Adobe Analytics, marketing channels, and custom data sets, into data warehouses for analysis. You will also collaborate with the Data Science and Engineering teams to optimize tracking systems and enhance the understanding of the customer journey. In this role, you will stay up-to-date on analytical best practices and industry standards, ensuring that the data tracking and reporting processes are robust and effective. Your contributions will directly impact the company's ability to make informed decisions and drive growth in the eCommerce space.

Responsibilities

  • Work hand-in-hand with Data Analysts and other key members of the Analytics team to support eCommerce and Marketing teams by capturing, integrating, and curating data.
  • Collaborate with the Data Science and Engineering teams to optimize and evolve on-site/in-app tracking systems, enhancing understanding of the customer journey.
  • Aggregate data from Adobe Analytics, marketing channels, CDP, and custom data sets into data warehouses for analysts and data scientists.
  • Validate reports and tagging through regular, rigorous testing and optimization of data integrations.
  • Integrate eCommerce data with off-site data sources for more holistic insights across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Edible's Data Science team to develop and maintain data for real-time monitoring of core eCommerce metrics and decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date on analytical best practices, data tracking, platforms, and industry standard metrics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data tagging, tracking and integration implementations within a D2C eCommerce organization.
  • Strong, hands-on experience in Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Twilio Segment (or similar) and PowerBI (or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree+ in quantitative field (i.e. Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in communicating complex challenges and solutions to multiple stakeholder groups of varying levels of data experience.
  • Expertise in curation of data for conversion-focused analysis (on-site, customer journey mapping and data collection/analysis) as well as marketing channel analysis (fundamental understanding of marketing channels roles in driving traffic and conversion).
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams to implement custom tracking solutions and optimize data integrations.
  • Experience using and organizing data for use in multi-touch attribution models to define the role/contribution of each channel beyond last-touch.
  • Experience building data pipelines and leveraging orchestration tools.
  • Basic SQL and Python experience required.
