About the position

The Marketing/Digital Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the social media development, digital marketing initiatives, and content creation for Divine Mercy University. This full-time position requires a creative and proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative team environment and aligns with the university's mission and values. The specialist will work closely with the Sr. Director of Marketing, Multimedia Manager, and Admissions/Marketing Assistant to enhance the university's online presence and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new strategies and campaigns for the organization's social media channels in coordination with the Sr. Director of Marketing.
  • Create a weekly social media content calendar.
  • Support the development and tracking of paid ad campaigns.
  • Generate monthly social media analytics reports and research social media trends.
  • Assist with graphic design and video content creation for social media.
  • Edit videos for social media use.
  • Design and promote a bi-monthly alumni newsletter and write quarterly newsletters.
  • Develop infographics and fact sheets for educational content.
  • Conduct interviews with current students and alumni to draft blog profiles and anecdotes for social media.
  • Provide general communications writing and support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field; Communications, marketing, or journalism preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of related communications experience in communications, public affairs, marketing, or journalism.
  • Superior writing and editing skills.
  • Proactive and creative nature with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with various departments.
  • Experience in crafting compelling stories and campaigns for social media.
  • Proficiency in tracking social media analytics and trends.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of and experience using CRMs/databases (Salesforce or Populi) is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data entry/management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working for nonprofit and/or advocacy organizations.
  • Educational or professional training in design.
