About the position

The Federal Marketing and Public Affairs Director at Axon is a pivotal role focused on enhancing brand awareness and strategic communications within the federal sector. This position involves developing comprehensive marketing strategies, leading public affairs initiatives, and engaging with key federal stakeholders to promote Axon's mission of protecting life and innovation. The director will collaborate with various internal teams to align marketing efforts with federal needs, ultimately driving growth and positioning Axon as a trusted partner for federal agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy targeting federal agencies.
  • Lead Axon's federal public affairs initiatives, ensuring alignment on legislative and policy advocacy.
  • Design and implement integrated demand campaigns to increase awareness and generate qualified leads.
  • Develop compelling content, including thought leadership pieces and event presentations, that highlights Axon's solutions.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key federal stakeholders and advocacy groups.
  • Guide strategy and planning of federal-focused events, conferences, and roundtables.
  • Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and positioning of Axon across all federal marketing activities.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align marketing initiatives with federal procurement cycles.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and federal procurement processes to inform marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, public affairs, or communications within the federal government space.
  • Strong understanding of the federal government landscape, including decision-making processes and procurement.
  • Proven experience leading public affairs initiatives and building relationships with government officials and media.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful marketing strategies for federal audiences.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and lead efforts with internal teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technology, public safety, defense, or law enforcement sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, political science, or a related field.
