About the position

As the Marketing Director at First American, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategy and execution for multiple lines of business. This position requires a visionary leader who can develop long-range departmental planning and contribute to strategic planning initiatives. You will be responsible for establishing marketing as a strong growth channel, leading a team to execute innovative marketing campaigns across various channels, including email, direct mail, SEO, social media, print, and video. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and managing a scalable growth strategy that leverages competitive intelligence and market insights to meet business objectives. In this role, you will define, measure, and report on the performance of all marketing channels and campaigns, assessing them against ROI and KPI goals, particularly focusing on customer acquisition and retention. You will create a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with business objectives, optimizing websites, managing budgets, and providing detailed reporting regularly. Your ability to manage customer segmentation strategies will ensure that the right audience receives the right message at the right time. You will also be responsible for maturing the analytics function, implementing AB testing programs to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Collaboration with key stakeholders in engineering, sales, product, and service will be essential to enhance the customer experience and present a cohesive brand image. Additionally, you will develop compelling business cases to justify expanded marketing spend based on intelligent risk-taking and present performance summaries to leadership, identifying key opportunities and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-range departmental planning and provide input to strategic planning.
  • Lead a team to execute breakthrough marketing and integrated campaigns across channels.
  • Develop and manage a scalable growth strategy based on competitive intelligence and market insights.
  • Define, measure, and report on the performance of all organic and paid marketing channels/campaigns.
  • Create a content strategy that supports business objectives across the buyer's journey.
  • Own and efficiently scale marketing spend, optimizing a blend of channels to hit growth targets.
  • Manage customer segmentation strategy to reach the right audience with the right message.
  • Mature the analytics function to include AB testing programs.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to improve customer experience and brand cohesion.
  • Develop and present performance summaries for leadership, identifying key areas of opportunity and risk.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of marketing experience.
  • 5-8+ years' experience in a people manager role.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, with a focus in marketing.
  • 5+ years of experience in demand generation, specifically within DTC companies; B2B experience is a plus.
  • Experience owning business outcomes for marketing and driving initiatives to meet goals.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity, innovation, and a love of experimentation.

  • Experience in a leadership role within a marketing department.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
