About the position

The Marketing Director for Retail Shareables & Snackables at McCain Foods is a pivotal role within the North America Marketing Team, responsible for leading a team of retail marketers to develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the company's 2030 Plan. This position focuses on driving consumer demand through strategic business leadership, collaboration with various functional groups, and a strong emphasis on portfolio management and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop a team of direct and indirect reports, fostering an engaged and high-performing team.
  • Direct and set the vision and long-range strategy for the retail business, utilizing market insights and analyses to meet financial and share targets.
  • Leverage consumer insights to develop portfolio strategies that align with customer and category needs.
  • Lead the annual planning process, influencing innovation and sales strategy while managing marketing spend and reporting on ROI.
  • Develop and execute core innovation strategies, including line extensions and renovations.
  • Champion customer and consumer understanding to ensure integrated execution of strategies across functions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and report on category and business performance, taking action as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities and translate insights into market propositions.
  • Support the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process to balance supply and demand effectively.
  • Conduct portfolio performance reviews and optimize pricing and promotions based on performance drivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of Marketing/Brand Management experience in the US Retail market within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, with a minimum of 5 years in food.
  • Previous P&L management experience.
  • Experience deriving insights from primary consumer research and syndicated data.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
